Summer In the Hamptons

East Hampton --> Montauk

Growing up reading books like the The Clique series and watching shows like Gossip Girl, there's no wonder I have always dreamed of summering in the Hamptons. From exclusive parties to picturesque beaches to handsome cabana boys, how could one not be drawn to this summer hot spot?

Looking for something new and exciting to do over the weekend, a friend and I decided it was time to tick this excursion off of our "must do" list. Living in The City made it easy for us to execute our spur of the moment plan to head off for a little weekend getaway.

We started our journey wandering the storybook-like East Hampton Village. The quiet streets are lined with both local and some well-known shops, along with a dozen adorable places to pop in for savory bites.

Famished, we stopped at Cittanuvoa to refill before we continued exploring the quaint village.

Reenergized, we set off to check out a local bookstore.

And of course a little shopping!

We then hopped in an Uber to head off to the nearby beach town of Montauk. We went straight to the LightHouse Museum to get some real natuical views.

One of the most interesting things about this spot, is that it is the farthest eastern point of the United States. Because of this, the name Motauk is typically followed by the phrase "The end."

We then ventured back to the main part of town in time for a little souvenir shopping, exploring and of course, COFFEE!

With the beach only two short blocks from the coffee shop, we couldn't say no to a sandy pit stop even though we will ill-prepared for the beach at the time.

As we are both girls who faithfully fall asleep to "Sounds of the Ocean" playlist, how could we pass up a chances to stop and enjoy the real thing?

With hearts filled with joy and shoes filled with sand, we did our best to dust off before heading to the most gorgeous spot for dinner. A good friend who is rather familiar with the area recommended we make the quick five-minute drive to Crow's Nest from dinner.

She most certainly did not disappoint with her suggestion.

In the beginning we weren't sure if the weather would hold, but it ended up perfect, so we took a table out on the patio. With a gentle breeze and sailboats gliding by in the distance we found ourselves in a blissful trance.

Crisp white wine and thick house-made pasta with fresh crab only enhanced our cheerful mood.

One of the best parts about Crow's Nest is that when you are finished with dinner, you can stroll straight off the patio down hill for drinks and views on their private beach set up.

The city is amazing and a daily adventure, but somethings you just need to moment to sit back, relax and rejuvenate in the Hamptons.
