Where to Eat in Nashville, Tennessee
After months of staying home and the cancellation of this year's Europe trip, I was desperate for a getaway. Two of my girlfriends asked me to meet them in Nashville for a three day/two night trip, and after weeks of deliberation, I decided to go. While our trip was rather quick, we had an absolute ball and made sure to pack in as many delicious meals as we could. Here are some of my favorites from the trip.
Milk & Honey
I had been the first to arrive in Nashville and needed a place to lounge until the hotel room was ready. The concierge put my luggage in storage, and suggested that I give Milk & Honey try. I was so grateful for his recommendation because I fell head over heels for this place. Every morning during our trip, I would bypass many coffee shops on my half-a-mile journey to the shop, and it was well worth it. After a number of lattes, we even decided to stay and have lunch. Whether you are looking for a cozy place to sit and have your morning cup or a fun place to indulge with a glass of wine (read: bag of wine due to Covid-19 requirements), Milk & Honey provides a perfect atmosphere.
Pro tip: For those of you who are dairy free, their coconut milk is made in-house and is absolutely divine!
Bartaco
When in Nashville, it's only natural that one might find them self wandering from one celebrity owned store to the next. We went browsing in Kristin Cavallari's Uncommon James then Reese Witherspoon's Draper James, at which point we found ourselves ready for some refreshments. Bartaco is just a block or two from Draper James, and is a wonderful place to stop and refuel. We grabbed a table on their patio, where we munched on chips and guac and had a few cocktails.
Pro tip: Our favorite cocktails were the Reviver and the Smoke on the Water. Careful, don't let their deliciously smooth tasty fool you!
Biscuit Love
Nashville is famous for their hot chicken and biscuits, so naturally we had to try some! Biscuit Love is in the heart of The Gulch, and its interior is equally as cute as their name. We all order the East Nasty, which was named the best sandwich in America according to their menu. As it this was our first time trying out the city's famous dish, we weren't adventurous enough to get the gravy on the sandwich and had it served on the side instead. The biscuits were thick and perfectly moist; the gravy was rich and savory; and the chicken thigh was hot and fresh!
Amerigo
After a long day of sipping wine at a vineyard in Arrington, we found that we had a heavy case of pasta on the brain. We wanted to find rich, delicious pasta options that could rival that which we were used to in New York. After many Google searches and some time spent trying to narrow down our options, we landed on Amerigo. As soon as they placed the plate of three cheese, jumbo lump crab tortellini in front of me, I knew we had made the right decision. Piping hot gooey cheese, large chunks of crab meat and fresh pasta was exactly what I needed for our last dinner in Nashville.
Hattie B's Hot Chicken
This was by far and without a doubt my favorite meal of the trip. While Biscuit Love had been good, Hattie B's stole the show! Their Hot Chicken Sandwich is the most popular item on the menu, and it was easy to see why on the first bite. They offer six different levels of spiciness, and while both of my friends went with Mild, I decided to kick it up a notch with Medium (level three of the six). We all agreed that our sandwiches were the prefect level for each of us; spicy enough to feel it, but not so spicy that we were constantly reaching for our sweet teas between every bite. Don't forget the sides! We felt the mac & cheese and crinkle fries paired perfectly with the crispy sandwich!
Vivre dans le luxe,
Jordin
