Driving Down the 101

Day 3

There are at least one thousand and ten reasons I love vacationing in California, one being how easy it is to drive from one luxe city to the next. That means there is always something new and exciting to try, see, and eat!

Day three of our holiday weekend was perfect! At dinner the night before, a local gave us several great recommendations for fabulous wining and dining spots along the coast. They all sounded so tempting that, just like that!, we swapped our customary jaunt to The Watermarc Restaurant for something completely fresh & new. In no time at all, we were saying a fond farewell to Newport and hello to Laguna Beach, where we arrived for lunch and drinks at The Deck, an absolutely amazing spot that you truly should not miss! Seriously, go now!

We had planned to stay only a short while at The Deck before moving on to scout more scenic views of Southern California's golden coast. However, we ended up staying put at The Deck for several relaxing hours_and with no regrets! Why? Because our table had perfect views of stunning Laguna Beach, and, naturally, the steadily flowing mimosas were simply delightful. Clearly, there was no reason to leave our little table of bliss.

California sunshine, yummy cocktails and a clear schedule. And there you have it! The perfect do-nothing day!
